How To Reconstitute & Fill Your 3mL Cartridge
Follow these 6 steps to safely mix your peptide and transfer it into the 3mL glass cartridge for your HelixPen.
Prepare & Reconstitute Peptide
Clean the tops of your peptide vial and bacteriostatic water vial with a sterile alcohol prep pad. Gently inject the required volume of bacteriostatic water down the inside glass wall of the peptide vial. Swirl gently until completely dissolved — never shake vigorously.
Draw Solution into Mixing Syringe
Using the sterile 10mL syringe and draw needle from your reload kit, insert through the vial septum and draw the reconstituted peptide solution into the syringe barrel.
Purge Air from Syringe
Invert the syringe (needle pointing up), gently tap the side of the barrel so air bubbles rise to the top, and gently push the plunger until a small droplet appears at the needle tip.
Connect to Cartridge & Evacuate Vacuum
With the syringe needle facing upward, insert the needle through the rubber base septum of the empty 3mL cartridge. Pull the syringe plunger back slightly to equalize pressure and draw any air out of the cartridge.
Transfer Solution into Cartridge
Flip the connected assembly so the syringe is on top (needle-down). Slowly and smoothly press the syringe plunger to transfer the peptide liquid into the 3mL cartridge until the rubber stopper seats into its loaded position.
Load Cartridge into HelixPen Holder
Unscrew the clear cartridge holder sleeve from your HelixPen body. Slide the filled 3mL cartridge into the holder (septum collar facing outward). Screw the holder securely back onto the pen body until it clicks into place.
How To Dial & Administer Your Dose
Follow these 6 steps to attach your sterile pen tip, dial your target unit dosage, and administer with precision.
Remove Cap & Wipe Septum
Pull the protective pen cap off your HelixPen. Wipe the exposed rubber septum on the cartridge tip thoroughly with a fresh sterile alcohol prep pad.
Attach a Sterile Pen Tip
Peel the protective paper seal from a new 31G single-use pen tip. Screw the tip straight and firmly onto the threaded cartridge collar until snug, then pull off the outer and inner protective needle shields.
Dial Your Target Dose
Turn the mechanical dosage dial at the end of the pen. Count the tactile clicks and verify your exact unit setting in the magnified dose indicator window (e.g. 10 to 20 units).
Clean Skin & Insert Needle
Swab your intended subcutaneous injection site (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm) with an alcohol prep pad and allow to dry. Insert the ultra-fine needle at a 90° angle straight into the skin.
Administer the Dose
Depress the administer push button on the end of the plunger completely until the dial window returns to 0. Hold the button down and count slowly for 3 to 5 seconds to ensure the full dose is delivered.
Withdraw Needle & Safe Disposal
Pull the needle straight out of the skin. Carefully replace the outer needle cap, unscrew the used tip, and immediately discard it into a puncture-resistant sharps container. Replace the main pen cap on your HelixPen.
